T’AI CHI FOR LIFE, HEALTH & FITNESS teaches the complete Cheng Man-ch’ing Form; the most popular style of T’ai chi.

This application has been developed to serve both teachers and students who want a detailed visual training aid in order to help learn and develop the ‘Form’ in a structured, yet easy to follow manner.

T’ai Chi For Life, Health & Fitness gives you:

• 268 ‘Form’ screens – providing clear annotated diagrams to help you establish the fundamentals - broken down into individual steps provides you with clear detailed illustrations of how each posture should be positioned including the all-important foot positions and weight distribution.

• A ‘ghost’ image represents the figure position of the previous stance showing you how movement and flow is created.

• An ‘Animation’ button which you can activate to display an automated set of figure diagrams to give an overview of the entire movement throughout each sequence.

• These 54 ‘Form’ sequences makes it easy to see, not only these movements, but also the actual changes in posture accompanied by a detailed passage of text.

This system gives you all the necessary information to learn, develop and refine the craft - just as if you had your very own portable personal trainer!

About Your Teacher…

DR. STEWART McFARLANE is a well-known scholar of Chinese Religions and Buddhism, and a teacher of Chinese Martial Arts. He first trained in Wing Chun kung Fu as a student, with Hong Kong students in 1973-74 at the height of Bruce Lee’s fame, and the Wing Chun/Jeet Kune Do craze.

He trained in Wing Chun under Sam Kwok, his teacher Yip Chun, and eventually with Lo Man Kam in Taiwan. (Yip Chun is Yip Man’s son, Lo Man Kam is Yip Man’s nephew. Yip Man was Bruce Lee’s Wing Chun teacher in Hong Kong.) He also undertook training seminars with Master Wong Shun Leung from Hong Kong; he was Bruce Lee’s friend and training buddy in Hong Kong.

In 1995, he was asked to form a security team of martial artists and conflict resolution specialists to help provide the security protection for his Holiness the Dalai Lama, which they did from 1996 to 2004. He retired in 2004, now lives in Thailand, and works with rescued elephants.
